The IMX290 sensor is well known as the best sensor for planetary imaging. Back illuminated, 135FPS@1920 x 1080, 2.9um pixel size, 0.7-3.2e- ultra low readout noise. The uncooled QHY5III290M is very popular among amateur planetary photographers. Professional imagers prefer the cooling capability of the COLDMOS series for the most demanding work.
QHY294 PRO
Back-Illuminated, 4/3 inch format BSI.
The new QHY294 Pro is a 4/3-inch back-illuminated camera, equipped with Sony IMX294 (Color) and IMX 492 (Mono) sensor. The 294 Pro has 11.7 MP at 4.63um, 14-bits A/D.
QHY163M/C
Performance 4/3-Inch 16 Megapixels. The QHY163M/C camera is an incredible value. It uses a relatively large 4/3-inch, 16 Megapixel CMOS sensor, available in both monochrome and color. The QHY163M/C has exceptionally low readout noise (as low as 1 electron!), low dark current and two-stage cooling capable of reducing the sensor temperature to -40C below ambient. The sensor chamber is sealed and the optical window is heated to prevent dew. The camera’s interface is USB 3.0 and delivers 23FPS@16 megapixel full resolution output, 30FPS@4K HD video output.
QHY128C
High Performance, Full Frame Format 74ke- Full Well.
The QHY128C is one of the top performing cameras in the COLDMOS line. The Sony Exmor IMX128 sensor is used in the Nikon D600 DSLR. In the QHY128C this sensor is implemented specifically for astronomical use with custom thermal noise reduction technology. With low (1e- to 4e-) read noise, 5.97um pixels, 74ke- full well capacity and 14-bit A/D, the camera has a dynamic range of more than 14 stops.
QHY247C
High Performance, Lowest Read Noise, 14-bit A/D
The QHY247C uses a SONY IMX193 APS size color CMOS sensor. Pixel size is 3.91um and it has a 14-bit A/D with a full well capacity of 36ke-. The read noise is 1e- to 2.7e-, the lowest noise tested at the lowest gain in the entire QHYCCD COLDMOS product line making it ideal for stacking many short exposures.
QHY178C
Small Size COLDMOS, High Sensitivity, Ultra Low Noise. The QHYCCD small size COLDMOS camera series includes the QHY178M/C, QHY290M/C and QHY224C. They are all share some basic characteristics: high frame rates, ultra low read noise and high sensitivity. Also these cooled versions of our smaller sensors offer excellent dark current performance and are ideal for serious planetary imaging and the entry-level DSO imaging.
QHY410C
14bit, 24mpixel, BSI FF
The new QHY410C uses Sony’s latest back-illuminated, full frame color sensor. The IMX410 is equipped with the sensor that used in the Nikon Z6, and Sony A7III. In addition to BSI, the IMX410 also has larger 5.94 um pixels giving it increases sensitivity of extended objects in low light. The IMX410 is expected to be Sony’s most sensitive full frame color sensor for astrophotography.
QHY168C
APS-C, Sony IMX071 Sensor, 16 Megapixels. The QHY168C is a popular APS-C format cooled color camera. The SONY Exmor IMX071 sensor has 4.8um pixels and 2.3e- to 3.2e- read noise. This sensor was used in the Nikon D5100 DSLR camera. With read noise this low, it is easier to detect a dim target against of the background noise.
